The gym is my sanctuary. When I’m there, I forget about everything and nothing else matters but boxing.

I know a World-class trainer is teaching me. I’ve been around a lot of trainers and want the best. Gus is by far and without a doubt the best trainer. He gets the best out of everyone, but most of all he gets you to trust him in the ring.

Since I’ve been here, I have learned some important life lessons in the most uncanny of situations. I don’t think I’d be as focused as I am today without the gym. It keeps me grounded and reminds me to work harder. And there are a lot of posters and newspaper articles in the gym that I use for motivation and inspiration.

I have always been known as the “un-toned bone.” That was until 2011. It was at that time a good friend of mine introduced me to Gus Curren’s House of Champions.

My first visit was met with anxiety and intimidation, as my skill level did not allow me the ability to perform even a single sit up. After my first workout, Gus built my confidence while simultaneously disarming my anxiety. Gus’s hands on approach, consistently delivers a mix of routines that sharpens the mind and keeps the muscles guessing.

To Gus, boxing is not just a lifestyle, it is his life! He is a consummate professional both in and outside of the ring.

Looking forward to my next workout as well as my sit-ups.

His gym definitely has “the old school lets get it right” feeling. Gus is a great all around trainer that could lead a camp or help run one. He is one of the best trainers I’ve worked with as professional boxer.
